OK, So I have no excuse for the last half of April…
…but not posting anything so far in May?
Well… Let’s see:
One third of our neighbors (along with MANY other communities in Middle Tennessee) had their homes ravaged by floodwaters. (Our home was spared, Praise God.) We were stuck away from the house for the first few days in May because of all the complications from 16 inches of rain that fell in a 24 hour period and then we were consumed back at home trying to help our neighbors dig out from under the mess. Little Sarah turned two. For her birthday, she got a pair of jammies, a toy, AND… she got sick with some bizarre gum condition that caused her to bleed profusely each time we would brush her teeth. Bruce got a wicked case of strep throat. While he was supposed to be resting and recuperating, the cows got out. TWICE. They were roaming the neighborhood next to the farm because the flood had compromised the fences. (With a 102.5 fever, he headed out and finally caught them). The first time was relatively easy. The second time involved 8 hours of walking through heavily wooded areas that had been flooded. Needless to say, it took him a while to recover from his illness. The kids and I spent many afternoons making and/or delivering meals and necessities for several families who were homeless because of the flood. Nathan turned four. Celebrated Mother’s Day, my brother’s birthday, and a belated Graduation that we missed because I-24 was underwater. Bruce and I celebrated 12 years of marriage. I was diagnosed with Gestational diabetes. Again. This past weekend, we helped my grandmother and aunt move to 2 different condos.
And now….. DRUMROLL… NATHAN IS SICK! 104 fever, vomiting, labored breathing. He’s now getting treated like a prince, with the TV in his room and a steady diet of gatorade and popsicles. Fun times here at the Clark house!!!
There are 5 days left in May. I hope they come and go quickly and uneventfully!!!
Backdated posts to come, I hope… Just as soon as I can catch my breath!
Oh, PS – In 8 days, we’ll know if there’s a girl baby or a boy baby kicking around inside my tummy!
(And for Nathan’s sake, I hope it’s a BOY! He’s *begging* for a brother!)
