WFMW: Lesson Pathways

WELCOME WFMW‘ers!

I have found the most WONDERFULLY AWESOME website for homeschool or education supplement lesson plans.

My frugal self has been hesitant to purchase a boxed curriculum (especially for Kindergarten) and in light of the fact that I know that there is so much really great information on the internet that I can use to pull together really neat ideas, I just hated to buy something that I might not end up liking.

I have this horrible tendency to think that if I CAN do something that I SHOULD do it. That’s not always the best route to go especially because I end up thinking that there’s not much I can’t do and then I have too much to do so I don’t do things very well and should have gone with letting someone else do it in the first place. (Did that make one lick of sense?)

Enter Lesson Pathways.

This site has done all the gathering of information for me. It has lessons broken down by subject (Math, Science, Language Arts, Reading, and History) and it gives you all sorts of internet resources to use to do the lesson.

For example, last week we found a box turtle.

I *could* have spent an hour or more searching the internet for coloring pages, lesson plans, science facts, etc on box turtles but instead I just typed in the work “turtle” into the search feature at Lesson Pathways and TWENTY-SEVEN pre-planned lessons popped up! Lessons that fell into categories of art, science, and even geometry!

If you sign up at Lesson Pathways you can browse around and see some of the lessons available for free. This is a subscription site but the price is very reasonable ($3.00 per month!) and there really is a lot of great information there!

On-line learning (and letting people do all the information gathering FOR ME!) WORKS FOR ME!
