Use what you have: Digitally Created Gifts
I posted last year about a birthday party that snuck up on me and I didn’t have any wrapping paper so we made some. I try very hard to make the gifts that we give 1) meaningful 2) hand made and 3) affordable!
Our friend Alyssa has a fantastic birth date (right at the end of June and the beginning of Summer) and her mama knows how to {throw a} party! We’ve been to Dora themed parties where Dora actually SHOWED UP! (I guess it helps to be in the theater bidness and have friends in high places!) One year there was the Tinkerbell Party (in which I almost had to drag Abby away because she was having such a great time with the dress up clothes!!)
For that birthday, the gift came AFTER the party. I spent most of my time there snapping pictures and then I put together a 4X6 scrapbook for Alyssa with the pictures and used one of my digital kits. I simply used the template, clicked in the photos, had them printed at Sam’s and popped them into a cute little album.

Last year we were treated to a Scooby Doo Party – a mystery caper and an appearance by Scooby himself!
This year was no less impressive – a huge shin dig at the local water park with a bubble gum blowing contest, water balloon relays and cupcake decorating!
Such a special friend needs a special gift – what what could we give that we could make?
I used my mad photoshop skilz and some note cards that I had and we made some personalized stationery for Alyssa.
I had Abby write Alyssa’s name and I drew a picture and Abby colored it. I scanned it and then plugged it into some stationery that I had made for my niece a few months earlier.
I have given this gift two other times and it has been well received!

Would you like the ladybug stationery? I’ve converted it to a .jpg file. You can use it as is or bring it into any photo editing program and personalize it! Just print it out on cardstock and trim!
