I just can not get enough of them.

Just about the time I start wishing for things like no more diaper changes, no more messes at dinner, no more arguing about “I want Daddy to put me down! or I want MOMMY to put me down for bedtime!”, or just when I think I’m too exhausted to go one more night without a full 8 hours of sleep… That’s when I am reminded of all the *additional* things that will go away when the diapers and the sleepless nights leave.

No more diaper changes = no more chunky thighs to squeeze and no more tickling naked babies.

No more messes at dinner = kids that are too busy with their own lives to want to sit with us at dinnertime. (Who cares if they spill their water!)

No more arguing about bedtime means they’re old enough to go read themselves a book, turn out the light and go to sleep without snuggles and without needing to be tucked in.

Sleeping through the night means no more moonlit cuddles, no more listening to babbling and singing, no more hot little hands cuddling my face while she drifts off to dream. As much as I love sleep, I love cuddling with a sweet little baby a million times more.

Is life with three kids 5 and under chaotic at times? (Most of the time?) The answer to that would be a big fat YES. But we’re used to it and we’re OK – dare I say it – happy with our chaos. I wouldn’t trade all this for the world.
