The Rag Coat

Our latest story that we have been reading in the Five In A Row series is The Rag Coat by Lauren Mills.

We made our own rag coat out of magazine scraps and Abby did the most amazing job of pointing to each scrap and then “telling the story behind the scrap.”

For example, the story behind the scrap with Uncle Ben on it was, “This is my Grandfather. He is from a far away country. One day, I will be able to travel there and visit him.” The lady with the coffee? “That’s my mother. She goes and has coffee with her friends sometimes. Isn’t her hair so long and luxurious?” The berry story: “One day we took a walk and found some of the most delicious berries. They were sweet and squirty!”
