In The Garden
Well… We haven’t killed everything yet! There are weeds everywhere and Nathan often stomps around nearly trampling the plants but there are *some* things left!
The birds ate most of the blueberries, my rosemary turned into brittle stalks, and those strawberries never even made it into the ground but by golly, we’re getting some tomatoes!

If we can keep a certain pink booted boy from picking them before they’re ripe, we’ll be enjoying some salmonella free tomatoes very very soon!

We have only one cantaloupe coming up (which is amazing since Abby dumped an entire packet of seeds into the garden before we could stop her. I figured we’d have at least three or four!)

We’ve got several squash plants:

And one good basil plant is growing! (I am going to plant a few more in the spots where the other things didn’t take so well.)

Also not pictured: WATERMELON! And speaking of watermelon – THIS is what I have in my freezer right now! We were going to take it tonight to our community group but it hadn’t set up so we’ll enjoy some ice cream with the neighbors tomorrow! I hope mine turns out as pretty. If it does (or even if it doesn’t!) I’ll post some pictures when we cut it!
EDIT: We got another Blueberry plant! (The lovely folks at FREEDOM TREE FARMS gave us another one to replace the one that died 3 days after we brought it home.) It’s already yielding fruit! Now we’re off to Home Depot to get some netting to protect the berries from those pesky mockingbirds.
